Social Responsibility

We're committed to doing our bit, and helping our local community of Harpenden thrive.

Most of the team at BondMason live locally, and we feel it’s really important to get involved with the local community and contribute to it any way we can.

From supporting local businesses in Harpenden, sponsoring school football teams and supporting local events, we like to do our bit.

Local charity fundraising
We believe in providing help, however small, to support the work of charities which make a real difference to people's lives.

BondMason has recently supported Luton & Dunstable Hospital, by purchasing much needed equipment for their Paediatric Ward. In the photo, Stephen and Rachel met with the dedicated team at the hospital to present the specialist scales.

We've also teamed up with local coffee vendors in Harpenden, who helped us raise funds by distributing our Cancer Research branded coffee cups.  Customers provided a small donation (a suggested amount of £2) in return for a re-usable coffee cup. Supporting Cancer Research and helping to reduce waste in one go.

Sponsoring sports teams at local schools

Many of our children play for their school sports teams and we wanted to do our bit by donating some money towards new kits and equipment.

Small gestures that we hope make a positive impact on our budding sports enthusiasts.

The schools we are assisting with sports kits are:

  • Manland Primary School
  • Harpenden Academy
  • Crabtree Junior School
  • Roundwood Primary School
  • Roundwood Secondary School

Regarding the sponsorship of two football kits (top right), Mr Hunter from Roundwood Secondary School said:

All of us at Roundwood Park School and more specifically, the PE department, are incredibly grateful to BondMason for their kind support. Having local companies working with us and helping us with items that we may not otherwise be able to afford, really helps us as we try and maintain a high quality product, despite increasingly challenging educational budgeting. We send our thanks to all at the company and we look forward to seeing the students play in the kits that we've been able to purchase.

Working with local businesses to help us grow

From when we first started in 2015, we’ve preferred to work with local companies.  There’s so much talent close to home, there’s no reason to go too far afield to find the resource and support we need. We also like to do business the old-fashioned way and meet people face to face.  Which says a lot about us as bunch.

We’re in the FinTech business, so people assume we’re all techies and prefer doing things the digital way. But people are at the core of our business and always will be.  So we like to work with businesses who are on our wave length, which you only really get with meeting in person.

Find out more about how we supported the local community in our blog posts Keep it local and BondMason supporting the local community.

Supporting the Harpenden Music Theatre Company's production of Oliver and Thoroughly Modern Millie

In October 2018 we were the sponsors of the local amateur dramatics society's production of Oliver. Prior to this, we supported their performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie, in which a member of the BondMason team was cast.

Our talented local theatre company, always deliver a fantastic performance and this year was no different.  We're looking forward to the next production in Spring 2019.
